چکیده

Constrictive bronchiolitis obliterans and paraneoplastic pemphigus. Y. Hasegawa, K. Shimokata, S. Ichiyama, H. Saito. #ERS Journals Ltd 1999. ABSTRACT: Constrictive bronchiolitis obliterans is rare, and the pathogenesis of the disease often remains unknown. This study reports on the case of a 38 yr-old female with constrictive bronchiolitis obliterans and paraneoplastic pemphigus associated with malignant lymphoma. The patient developed progressive obstructive lung disease. The chest radiograph showed almost normal lungs. Paraneoplastic pemphigus is a newly described syndrome in which patients have autoantibodies binding to some epithelia, including in the respiratory tract. The disease develops in association with non-Hodgkin's lymphomas or other malignant neoplasms. The case presented here suggests that constrictive bronchiolitis obliterans associated with paraneoplastic pemphigus may be one of the facets of autoimmune responses in this context. An autopsy case of unicentric Castleman’s disease associated with bronchiolitis obliterans

A 34-year-old woman visited the hospital suffering from enanthema of the tongue, hair loss, and nonproductive cough. Corticosteroid administration slightly resolved the enanthema and hair loss, but not the nonproductive cough. She was transferred to another hospital for the resection of a retroperitoneal mass, which was histopathologically diagnosed as unicentric, hyaline vascular type Castlema...

Paraneoplastic autoimmune multiorgan syndrome (paraneoplastic pemphigus) in a child: case report and review of the literature.

Paraneoplastic autoimmune multiorgan syndrome, also known as paraneoplastic pemphigus, has been observed only rarely among children. We describe a 10-year-old boy with typical clinical and histologic findings of paraneoplastic pemphigus associated with Castleman's disease. His disease was refractory to resection of the tumor and aggressive combination immunosuppressive therapies. The patient di...

Constrictive bronchiolitis obliterans following gold therapy for psoriatic arthritis.

A 41 year old male with psoriatic arthritis developed progressive dyspnoea and airflow obstruction following 4 months of intramuscular gold therapy. Open lung biopsy revealed bronchiolitis obliterans of the constrictive type. This case suggests a possible aetiological role for gold in the pathogenesis of constrictive bronchiolitis obliterans, or alternatively an association between psoriatic ar...

Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor on Intercostal Nerve Presenting as Paraneoplastic Pemphigus with Fatal Pulmonary Involvement

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs) are benign neoplasms that can occur at different anatomic sites with nonspecific clinical symptoms. A 48-yr-old woman presented with a 2-month history of a relapsed oral ulcer, progressive dyspnea, and a thoracic pain induced by breathing. A tumorous mass was noticed in the right costodiaphragmatic recess on chest computed tomography and magnetic reson...
